  • 5.1.2 Post Upgrade Issues

So we updated from 5.1.0 to 5.1.2 Patch Level 2 because of an issue where someone was trying to SQL Inject our forums.

When we got done it seemed anyone in the supermod or administrators group would get spammed with new posts

    for example:

Subject: There is a new post in Forum Unsupported Player trades/sales

SIMBASON has just posted in the Unsupported Player trades/sales forum of Racing Rivals Forums under the title B Class & Turbo 2-in-1 Turf Car!

    This thread is located at

Here is the message that has just been posted:
    Bring This Up!

As our forums gets busier in the day this can only get worse. The issue is I don't know where to turn it off. I don't know what changed. They have a default setting of subscribed with no notifications so I dont get why they are getting notifications. Todd one of our admins says he unsubscribed completely and turned everything off but hes still getting them he claims.

The other bug is getting update node issues. There was always invalid sql with the forums it seemed when we updated to 5.1 but they were mostly cache issues. Now its this node issue.
    Database error in vBulletin 5.1.2:

    Invalid SQL:
    UPDATE node SET
    totalcount =
    CASE WHEN 1 > 0 OR totalcount > -1 * 1
    THEN totalcount + (1)
    ELSE 0 END,
    totalunpubcount =
    CASE WHEN 0 > 0 OR totalunpubcount > -1 * 0
    THEN totalunpubcount + (0)
    ELSE 0 END
    WHERE nodeid IN (216083,10,8,1)

For the first issue, Admincp -> Channel Management -> Show All Moderators. Edit the individuals permission and remove the permission to receive emails on all new topics. Save the permissions. The second issue is being looked at.

I tried it but I am getting an Invalid Page URL.

        So to UPDATE:

The forums aren't including admincp for that page. so i had to change the Url from to to edit users.

We are still getting excessive deadlocks though.
