Its been noted by other members that they can see the thread title in "Todays posts" search but then cant access it when they click on the link,

For example if I post in one of the private channels that every user except the four executive commitee members are all denyed access to, it will still show up in the search.

When you are testing to see what "other users" are seeing, are you using a different browser? Or, if you use the same browser, are you clearing your browser history and cache first?

Users shouldn't see posts they don't have access to. I can't recreate this. Make sure the users in question do not have any permissions to view the channels in question. You should go to Usergroups -> Channel Permissions and set "Can View Channel" to no for the usergroups in the appropriate channels.

There is a JIRA to remove visitor requests.

Is there any way to change which sections of the forum appear in the "Todays Posts" search?

Currently the permissions on these forums are only for certain people to access them ie. committee members, however when other users click on todays post they show up in the search results.

They still cant access the post but still shouldnt see it in the first place.

Also visitor messages come up in Todays Posts, any way to stop that from happening?
