I'm only looking to read from the database, not write to it.

I'm putting together a daily/weekly digest email service.
I want to make sure that if a users permissions to a forum are revoked I don't include posts from that forum in the email message.
I've got everything working except the permissions check.

I can't find any API docs for VB5, only VB4. I know c# and I know databases, not php.

You should never work with the database directly, you're only going to cause yourself extreme pain. What are you trying to do?

    database - permissions table

    Hi folks,

Using vBulletin 5.0.4 and working directly in the database.

Can someone give me some pointers about how the `permissions` table works.
I'm a DBA by trade so permissionid, nodeid and groupid are obvious, but the fields with 'permissions' or 'permissions2' in the fieldname is where I'm stuck.

What do the large numbers in these fields represent?
    Are these bitmasks?
Are they pointers to user records?
Is position important? (First 4 digits are 'allow' type permissions, last 4 digits are 'deny'?)

    Thanks
