Looks like cookies aren't being set properly

    Wayne,

The odd thing is, I don't get any sort of error message. The username and password are accepted and I just get taken right back to the main forum page (where I started) as if I had not logged in to begin with. It's really confusing.

What is the error presented when you try to login?

    Wayne,

Thanks for your reply. I've been trying to login using the exact URL listed in my settings without any luck. I am not sure what the fix for this is, but at this point I am unable to login with either my admin or test user profiles. I am effectively locked out. Up to this point, I have not modified the script for cookie handling in any way at all.

Access the site from the URL in your Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details. Cookies are not shared between www. and non-www.

You can try setting your cookie domain to .domain.com but it won't always work in all browsers.

You can also set up .htaccess to redirect to the proper URL at all times.

Cannot login to my vBulletin forum, at times....

    Hi guys,

I have a sporadic issue with my vBulletin forum. Sometimes when I try to login to my forum my login is accepted and then it takes me right back to the start page (as if I had never logged in to begin with). To clarify: my login name and password is accepted without problem, but when the page refreshes I am back to step one as if I had never logged in. This has happened on numerous computers on both my home and office networks, and with different user accounts (i.e. my admin account, as well as two test user accounts I created).

Perhaps most frustrating is that I encounter this problem inconsistently, and that it happened today when I was demo-ing the forum to a group of people. Very frustrating. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
