  • Completely disable visitor messages

We're running vbulletin cloud, so we should be on the latest version of everything.

We'd like to completely disable the visitor messaging system (not private messages). Or at the very least not make them publicly viewable. I'm currently able to see some sensitive information on our forum even when I'm not logged in.

I've gone through and tried disabling it on various accounts, but I'm still able to see them.

You can turn off profile viewing for guests by changing the "Can View Member Info" to No. AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager.

You can turn off Visitor Messages for your users by editing their Usergroups in the same location and setting Can Post Visitor Messages to Own Profile and Can Post Visitor Messages to Others' Profile to No.

Disabling Visitor Messages will not delete those already posted. You'll have to manually edit them and delete them off of each user profile.
