    Split Screen Option

Here's a concept that would really separate vB5 from any other forum software. I'd like a split screen option where the default forum index page appears on one-half of the screen and a custom page of the users choosing appears on the other half. It would effectively be like having two browser windows open at the same time, each pointing to a different URL within the main URL. That way a person could be, for example, writing an article while monitoring forums or working in SiteBuilder while keeping vigilance on the forums. I can't think of any drawbacks to this functionality. It would be something no one else is doing.

Is there anyone left to vote on these suggestions? If so, help me out here.

That could actually be accomplished fairly easily using a static html module, jquery, and CSS along with a custom template or widget module (Site builder friendly). You could use the custom profile fields to allow the user to select the content they want shown.

It could be however there are an exorbitant number of queries per page as it is without virtually doubling the number. There has to be a better solution.

There has to be a cost somewhere. If more info is displayed, there will be more queries unless you are displaying static content.

Likely some of the data would need to be cached, if it's not already.
Personally, I doubt that this would get implemented in the default product because it's quite a "niche" suggestion, but it would be worth logging it as a feature request in the Tracker.

Not to sound bitter but it appears as though vBulletin no longer has a lead developer on staff so the likelihood of anything being implemented is slim to none.
