  • CMS Discontinued?

My site runs completely on the CMS and uses little to no forum features. My articles consist of only YouTube videos. Am I done with vBulletin, or will this be addressed in the future?

The CMS will be added back to vB5 in the future once it is ready, if I were you I would hold off tbh

That's a real shame, because importing 1,200 articles to WordPress is going to take a long time.

I would hold off until the cms part of vb5 is released to be honest. End of the day if your site is running perfectly well at present, would just leave it running as it is until the cms features are ready for release.

If you upgrade to vBulletin 5 all your CMS content will be stored in a special channel. If the CMS is available in vB 5 the content will be displayed then.
So, you don't lose any content.

True but if he upgrades to vB5 today, and then the CMS takes 6 months to materialise, his website would become pointless in the meantime.

There was no timeframe mentioned when CMS will be ready.
I just stated that no content is lost, when upgrading to vBulletin 5

So it is pointless him even contemplating the upgrade. ?

Yes, until the CMS is done.

Otherwise you will be looking at an empty forum with no content. That's my understanding.

It shouldn't be long after the release that the CMS is up and running.
                  Hmmm. Cheese.

Do not upgrade to vB5 now for many reasons, the obvious being CMS is not ready.

When vB5 has the CMS *evaluate* it for suitability to your needs!

In the mean time stay with vB4 which will be maintained for some time.
I.e. 4.2.1 is on the way and a 4.3 is promised.

Why exactly are you considering to upgrade? 5th is not even ready to be run on working sites. It will take another year or so when one can call it a product ready -to-go.
