I took one quick look over it and noticed that there's quite heavy use of Bootstrap, and shuddered.
Why would a professional product such as vBulletin even consider implementing Bootstrap code? I don't know how deep the dependence goes on it, but as a developer I won't be touching the new vBulletin. Bootstrap is an amazing piece of open source code which is great, and I take my hats off to the guys who made it but it has no place in something such as vBulletin. There's numerous problems with using it, in particular there commonly being no backwards compatibility when the Bootstrap guys release updates. Are the VB Devs going to screw around with things just so nothing gets broken every time there's a Bootstrap update? Or just rely on an old version of Bootstrap forever? Why not use something more commonly known/reliable such as jQuery UI for many common objects? What about designers who want to implement new Bootstrap features but can't without entirely screwing a default design? There's a million possible scenarios.
Also... There's a tonne of pretty simple validation errorsLooks like my main vBulletin forum will be remaining on 3.x until I work out what to do.

so tired, download the beta, upload it to server, install, run & still buggy....
how can the bug shows up in the higher version? the site builder (edit page) & the home page (activity stream) work fine in the previous version
You're server seems to have a drastically reduced query string limit. About 512 characters instead of the default 8192.

Answer to your question is, very easily. Unfortunately a fix for an item can break an item that was previously working. This is the case no matter what is being developed when it gets to this kind of scale. Happens to me on an almost weekly basis.
