ahh I figured out the issue. New Topics under the filter in my blog was off. I don't even remember selecting that, so it would have to be the default view which I find it odd that it would be that way. I also find it odd that the setting would be there at all.

Honestly I'm getting used to it a bit and I see the potential for it to actually be solid once out of Beta. That being said with the amount of customization and size of my current site I just don't see the point in updating right now as I've finally gotten Vb4 they way I want it after 2 years. Could see myself upgrading my other license though for a new project once everything gets smoothed out in the next month or so.

There are a couple of online user modules that can be used. Online Users and Top Active Online Users. There is a Today's Birthday's module. There isn't a specific statistics module at this time. I guess that is another JIRA I need to write this weekend.
Here is the top active user's module:

You can change the modules around to make it behave differently.

We have a new demo staged and ready to be installed over the next few days. Not sure if it will go up this weekend or if they are waiting for the beta 11 build. Either way, it will show off the forums and other features. I don't really see a problem with the tab name. The new demo makes it very clear where the forum list is located.

Honestly, most of the differences I see is in the header, footer and some more content. If I'm missing some miraculous other improvements, please guide me on where to find them. As so far, I can barely get enough enthusiasm to browse vB5, let alone take the time to register.

The next beta release will likely determine if I get the upgrade for VB5 or not so I can still get in on the early promo. If it makes things worse or doesn't start to change my mind I'll likely sit VB5 out.
However what is bugging me is that the whole thing almost seems amateurish and basic. If not rushed to market. Especially compared to other forum software. I really wonder how users (not admins or owners), but the people that visit the new VB 5 forum will react. Truth be told this is a bit jarring. Its not gonna be a smooth or even semi-smooth transition it seems. Some things lost. Some things gained. A whole new look, feel, and layout.
Is the potential there? Yes. But that still doesn't mean much.
While it may not seem as bloated in features, it sure seems bloated in coding, ajax, and other 'techie' things. It almost seems like VB wants to be Facebook while being VB or something. I dunno. The direction almost seems confusing or lost.
We'll see what happens. But right now, on first impression, it's not looking good.

What's the point of the nested comments? I understand, you can comment a post. But why does it makes any sense?
Given we have a thread with 100 posts on 10 pages, some members are writing nested comments. I've read all posts but I have to read the whole thread again and again because it could be there are new nested comments. In my eyes it's like the quote function, so we have now two ways to comment a post........

Updated, yes, and cleaner yes, but perhaps too much of a change. it looks and feels like a simple, dumbed-down version of a forum, and there are really no visible design...-
