  • Smilies issue since latest upgrade

    We have quite a few smilies on our site and normally if you press “more smilies” it opened up the full list now pressing more smilies closed the smilie window and it won’t open again if you press the smilie option.

    Happening on iPad, Android and PC not tested iPhone yet

    Download customers can resolve this issue by editing the contententry_panels_smilies template in the AdminCP.

    Place this code:
    Code:
        <vb:if condition="!isset($smilieInfo)">
            {vb:data smilieInfo, editor, fetchAllSmilies}
        </vb:if>
    Just above (line 12):
    Code:
        <vb:if condition="$smilieInfo">

      Are all your smilies showing correctly in the AdminCP's Smilie Manager?

          Just to add that I can confirm it is also happening on iPhone.

          and the smilie box will only open again after refreshing the page.

            I can recreate the issue on my non-cloud test server.

                    I suspect it happens on all 5.6.5 forums. Will see if a patch can be created when I discuss the issue with the developers today.

                          It will happen on all cloud sites since it is a bug in 5.6.5. There is discussion on the feasibility of a patch for cloud sites and how to implement that.

                          The issue is fallout from another issue that removes the smiley panel completely if a site doesn't have any smilies at all. With the inclusion of Emoji within the editor, sites may decide not to use Smilies at all.
