Admin can not see deleted messages

I have 2 Primary Users in the Usergroup of Administrators. They should have the same privileges and viewing permissions. One of them can see "Deleted messages" in the Message Center but the other one can not... He will see this message instead:

Your criteria is not restrictive enough and might return too many results. Please restrict your criteria and try again.

What is likely causing this issue?

This error is generally due to the fact that the user doesn't have access to view all the items in the list. It should behave better and simply drop nodes that can't be viewed instead of showing an error.

Are the permissions different between the two users?

All the permissions seems to be identical for each of them but the administrator which can see "deleted or soft deleted" messages is also a "superadministrator" (ID 1)

Super Administrators have higher privileges. However, if this on Cloud, your administrator shouldn't be a super administrator. What are the two user names so I can take a look?

Hello,

the two usernames are: top_admin and forum_admin (forum_admin is the one with issues)

I was testing it for a while and when I create a new administrator or moderator user it works fine. So it is somehow related to administrators, moderators and super moderators we already had before the migration to the cloud.

There are few other things I have noticed. I tried to edit a topic as "forum_admin" and I got an error message "Invalid server response. Please try again".

I have tried to reset permissions also for Super Moderators and it did work as well.

[Admin CP > Channel Management > Channel Permissions > Super Moderators > Edit Permissions > Reset]


I assume that Moderators can not see deleted or soft deleted messages.

It would depend on their moderator permissions and which channel they are assigned to moderate. Moderator permissions are outside the Channel Permission system.

Yeah, you are right, you have to go to the "Moderator Permissions" area.
