Whitelisting from moderation queue via usergroup not working

We added a special usergroup on our forum titled Whitelisted, which would prevent any user who had this as one of their usergroups bypass the spam filter so it did not end up in the moderation spam queue. These are the options that are present:



Trouble is, it does not work, and I do not know why. We daily get people ending up in moderation queue that either have Whitelisted as an additional group for that user, or have Whitelisted as the main group.

Is there something we are missing here?

These permissions do not bypass the spam filter. They specify whether every post is moderated regardless of content. The permission that you're looking for to bypass Spam Checking is "Exempt posts from Spam checking"

That does not appear to be an option within the list of permissions in Usergroup Manager on vBulletin 5.6.1 Patch Level 1.. I see it within Channel Permissions but I only want this whitelist to apply to specific users, not the entire channel

You would change it for the usergroup under channel permissions. It would then apply only to that usergroup.

What is show under Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager just sets up some basic defaults for the Channel Permissions and controls some permissions for things not related to channels at all. Managing Channel Permissions is where you finetune your permissions across the site.
