  • How to change the color of the speech icon to green in forum home

    Hello,
Would you please let me know how to change the color of the speech icon to green instead of the attached blue icon ?

    Please advise me.

    Thank you

You can change the colors of all blue icons by editing the icon_color_blue_X style variables in the Style Variable Editor.

For individual icons, you have to target them with custom CSS. Similar to your previous topic here: https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...n-color-change

In recent versions, you can also upload custom icons per forum in the Channel Manager.

Thank you, I've updated but when I have a new thread, the color of the speech icon is still gray. it doesn't turn into Blue.
      What should I do?

      Please advise. Thanks always.

        Hi Claire,

The colored version of the speech bubble only appears when there are new unread messages in a message forum. That is new to the individual person viewing the message forum.

If you yourself are posting the thread then you have already "read" the post so the icon by default is gray. On making a post it automatically takes you into the post, so you automatically have read it according to vBulletin.

Try logging in with a test account and see if the new thread post has the colorized speech bubble.

        Aly

Right click the element you want to change. Choose Inspect Element. Look at the code. See the CSS Classes that affect those elements. Write custom CSS to change the appearance of those CSS Classes.
