Why when uploading style xml it returns nothing. The style is uploaded but not showing in the style manager.
How do we know it uploaded?

If it was a proper style and uploaded properly, it would show in the Style Manager. Since it isn't showing in the style manager, I would guess that it isn't a working style or not compatible with your version of vBulletin.

Thank you I'll let the developer know he also said someone else is having the same problem on their site.

We can't investigate third party styles. Any support for these needs to come from the style author. Sorry.

I edited one of the default vbulletin theme "Wood", add a line in css_additional.css to replicate the problem. Download and re-upload it with a different name it shown another "confirm action" form with this description: To overwrite the existing style, please re-upload the XML file and continue with a choose file button.

Using that form I just browse again the style and decide dto overwrite anyway. Then it don't do anything(The Wood style don't get overwrite) but now all the test uploads from yesterday appears but the all the styles are broken if we open the edit templates to see one of the style.


There are 2 notices.

If we rebuild style it went system error blank page message.

Now at the bottom style manager got 2 notices

Seems to be a bug if there are no search conditions. That is a legacy file but there were some changes in October 2019 so a bug may have crept in.

There is a workaround by removing the AND in the line of code below:

templatetype IN('template', 'replacement') AND

This is approximately line 1328 in /core/includes/adminfunctions_template.php.

You should have display_errors off on a production server. However, I changed something in your /core/includes/config.php file to alleviate the issue.

In regards to importing and XML file. The problems seem to be related to importing styles with a GUID and/or the Master style. Both of these situations should be avoided. Some fixes will be added to the next version to help alleviate these issues.

Hello, I know this post is somewhat old now, but I am having a similar issue. I uploaded a style but it does not show in style manager. It looks correct in the DB, and if I manually type in URL param for the style id, I am able to preview it and everything looks correct. It just won't show up in style manager.
