Error: could_not_cache_template after upgrade to PL2

could someone tell me how to fix the following error message from the admin after upgrade to 5.5.4.p2 :

Error: could_not_cache_template

Make sure that the webserver can write to the /core/cache/template directory. Your hosting provider can help with the most secure set of permissions to allow this.

Otherwise go to Settings -> Options -> Style & Language Options. Turn off storing the template cache in the file system.
