Now we Get SQL error when a user tries to subscribe

This started happening this week. Is any user tries to subscribe to a thread, they now get a lightbox error instead:

• Error Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO subscribediscussion (`userid`,`discussionid`) VALUES(35205,'1269199') /**subscribediscussion**/;

Any idea why this is happening and what we can do to fix it?

What is the full error? There isn't any information provided with your excerpt that would help us solve your issue. As provided, there is no error with that query. The full error should be emailed to the technical contact email in your /core/includes/config.php file.

End Users shouldn't receive any MySQL errors in the dialog. This would only happen if you are improperly running the site in Debug mode.

My system admin just checked. He said there was one file that was in debug mode so he turned that off and rebooted the server. We're still getting the same error. Also, we not getting emails when this happens.

FWIW, that was the whole error that showed in the pop up.

When you run the query in post #1 against your database directly using a tool like phpMyAdmin or HeidiSQL, what is returned?
