  • [Bug / Issue] Code of noindex and nofollow in a template header ??

    Good evening...
    I have a query about the noindex and nofollow code in the template header
    Code:
    [COLOR=#FF0000]<vb:if condition="$page['noindex'] AND $page['nofollow']">
            <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" />
        <vb:elseif condition="$page['noindex']" />
            <meta name="robots" content="noindex" />
        <vb:elseif condition="$page['nofollow']" />
            <meta name="robots" content="nofollow" />[/COLOR]
        </vb:if>
        <vb:if condition="$vboptions['facebookactive']"><meta property="fb:app_id" content="{vb:var vboptions.facebookappid}" /></vb:if>
    What is the need for this code and does this code prevent the archiving of the site?

      Cannot reproduce. Did you edit in templates or use any addons? If not reset bare_header and header.

        This code is presetn on my default installation, and it is simply setting noindex and nofollow headers on pages that are designed to be that.

            None in a default installation. The PHP code doesn't exist to set those values on any page by default, as far as I can see.

            What you can do is add query strings to to the page to set these (e.g. ?noindex=1&nofollow=1). Maybe someone thought it was useful for custom pages or it is a feature that was never quite finished.

            widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
            Working...
