Then you cannot use SSL/HTTPS on that server. We don't do anything differently based on SSL/HTTPS versus an insecure link. Including files is not affected by the interface for the web. It is a file on the server. As long as the file exists in the directory, it will be included by PHP. The base software should work equally well under either as long as it is on a properly configured server.

It can't find the /config.php file. If this only happened once you enabled HTTPS on the server, you have to ask your hosting provider why the server can no longer see this file. It is most likely a permissions issue that their changes have triggered.

I don't know. You would have to ask your hosting company where your error logs are located. It is different on every server configuration. I have my own server configured to write a combined file in my user's home directory and it is called error_log. Some hosting providers put them in the public_html directory (bad location in my opinion but...). Others put them in a logs directory. Still others may not make them available at all.

A 500 server error is a generic message. This means an error happened in either Apache or PHP but it isn't displayed. You have to look at your error logs to see what this error is.
