I'm currently using GoDaddy to forward email to an internal distribution group but will be switching providers soon. I know I should update the webmaster's email address under update the URLs under Settings / URL / Contact Details, but is there anything else I should be aware of? Does anything need to change in my core files?

Turns out config.php had a reference to the forwarding email address in GoDaddy. I changed ['Database']['technicalemail'] to a generic distribution group email I regularly use, and updated to the webmaster's email address under Settings / URL / Contact Details to the same distro.
I then created a new topic in a channel I am subscribed to on my site, and the subscription notification sent an email to vBulletin Support which created a case. Nothing was sent to my distro group. Nothing was changed in GoDaddy settings, so what could possibly cause this to route to vBulletin Support?Comment

You don't have [email protected] listed anywhere or in your distribution list do you? You should use the created ticket to have someone review your vBulletin settings.
The technical email is only used if the database can't be accessed with a database error. It won't be used for general email sending.Translations provided by Google.

Hi all.
I had previously moved my site to a new domain. After the move, I changed the webmaster email address in AdminCP, but I am still getting notifications sent to the old email address....-
