I have been trying to change the default style vars. It is very very slow when I save the changes.

We've done some work on this but there is a state of diminishing returns involved. Since editing the style variables won't affect the end user, we have to try to balance things between user performance, admincp performance, and other resources used. With most things in the AdminCP, we will tend to go with preferring performance for the end user over the admincp. What version of vBulletin 5 are you using?Translations provided by Google.

"really very slow" isn't quantifiable. Only takes a couple of seconds to save on my test sites. If you click on the group header (bolded words), it loads all the style variables at once and you can edit them in one take.Translations provided by Google.
