Hello, My VB 5 Forum was working fine, today I upgraded the PHP from 5.4 to 5.6, and since then I am getting the error. I am unable to login to the admincp as well.
When I downgrade to 5.4 it works, VB 5 is not working and I am getting the same error when upgraded to Php 5.5 or even 5.6. Please advice.

Why not keep 5.4 while waiting for help? This way your site will not be down.

This problem is solved. All I did is changed the Database settings in core/includes/config.php.

I changed the line $config['Database']['dbtype'] = 'mysql'; to $config['Database']['dbtype'] = 'mysqli';
