You would actually have to assign them as a moderator instead of putting them in the Super Moderator usergroup. You can assign moderators to individual areas under Channel Management -> Channel Manager. Use the moderator tools on the right.

So, let's say, if I wanted a super mod to have an ability in a few channels only, but not globally, I'd set it to No in the first option and usergroup, but set it to yes in the channel permission?

The first changes their moderator permissions.

The second changes their channel permissions.

Two different types of permissions. While similar, they aren't identical.

Can someone please explain to me what the difference between these two are? Does the Moderator Manager mirror the Usergroup permissions?

AdminCP > Channel Management > Show All Moderators > Super Moderators > Edit Permissions

    AdminCP > Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > Admins/SuperMods > Edit
