Is it true that there is nowhere to add Google Analytic code in the VB5 Admin area?? All I'm finding is that I may have to edit the footer or I may have to use a mod from some tweaker?

We've never had an option to add the code via AdminCP. What you can do is either:
1. add the code to the templates or
2. use the template hook system to add a template that's called via the existing templates
For 1, this may cause issues on future upgrades as the default template code may need to be updaterd but can't due to your custom code so we recommend using option 2 - please see this blog entry on how to do this:
Introduction to vBulletin 5 Connect's Template Hook system.
