Changing Index Sidebar

I notice that the sidebar can only be set @ 30% with the page editor.

How can I override this to custom values?
If I wanted a fluid style the sidebar would need to be set in px rather than %

My main question is, how do I set the sidebar to 300px?

This isn't supported at this time. Changing the width can cause problems. If we implement a fluid width layout in the future, then this would be addressed.
