cannot upload word document (*.doc) as an attachement

Remove the height and weight dimensions from the attachment type under Attachments -> Attachment Manager in your AdminCP. Also make sure the number of bytes allowed is large enough for your file.

I've changed you over to GD for the time being, while we try to figure out what is causing the issue with ImageMagick
