Lots of features that uses images are broken, attachments etc

After I upgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5 all custom images (attachments, logo, attach links, image verification) disappeared/broke. What can the problem be, is it the image processing library?

I store attachment in the database.

Here is an example of some broken attachments. I was only able to get the logo back after i replaced the vbulletin logo file in the folder images.

I am running into a few of the same problems with images.
1. When viewing a user profile in the AdminCP i can see the avatar thumbnail for images that have been uploaded as GIF files. All other avatar image thumbs are broken since the code to diplay them only seams to use the .gif extension.
2. I have never successfully been able to add an uploaded image to my signature. for this reason I reverted back to allowing [img] bbcode.
