  • upgrading to 5.0.1 from 5.0.0

    Hey Guys,

I'm sure this is pretty obvious to most, but I am a vBulletin newby. VB5 connect is my first use of vBulletin or any forum for that matter.

I have had absolutely no problem with installing and using 5.0. I'd really like to install 5.0.1, but I'm not quite sure that if I install this the same way I did 5.0 that it will wipeout pretty much everything that is already on my forum. So, will I simply just edit my config files like I did initially and upload all files to my server or should I pick and choose? I'm using FileZilla and I'm pretty sure they have an overwrite existing files with newer sources option I can use. I've backed up my existing forum as well.

Any help for a beginner would be most appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to edit the config files again.

Just upload all the 5.0.1 files, then run

(The config files have slightly different names in the package so they don't overwrite the existing ones).

Make sure you BACK UP your old files AND database FIRST!

I'm getting this error while going into the link Mark provided.

vBulletin 5 requires PHP version 5.3.0 or greater. Your PHP is version 5.2.17, please ask your host to upgrade."

Pretty confusing since I was using 5.3.0 for vBulletin 5.0.1

[Edit] Added "AddHandler application/x-httpd-php54 .php" to .htaccessfile and get errors
