  • Apple App reject for two reasons ....

Guideline 1.2 - Safety - User Generated Content

Your app enables the display of user-generated content but does not have the proper precautions in place.

    Next Steps

To resolve this issue, please revise your app to implement all of the following precautions:

    - Require that users agree to terms (EULA) and these terms must make it clear that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
    - A method for filtering objectionable content
    - A mechanism for users to flag objectionable content
    - A mechanism for users to block abusive users
    - The developer must act on objectionable content reports within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided the offending content

    Guideline 4.0 - Design

We noticed that the user is taken to Safari to sign in or register for an account, which provides a poor user experience.

    Next Steps

To resolve this issue, please revise your app to enable users to sign in or register for an account in the app.

We recommend implementing the Safari View Controller API to display web content within your app. The Safari View Controller allows the display of a URL and inspection of the certificate from an embedded browser in an app so that customers can verify the webpage URL and SSL certificate to confirm they are entering their sign in credentials into a legitimate page.

    Resources

For additional information on the Safari View Controller API, please review the What's New in Safari webpage.

Please see attached screenshot for details.

    I replied:

Guideline 4.0 - Users MUST sign up on the website by design. We do not want people to sign up from the app. I appreciate the advice though.

    Guideline 1.2 Safety:
    - Terms and Rules are on the registration page and must be agreed upon before registration is allowed to complete. See here: https://irate4x4.com/register
    - Automatic word filtering on the back end is enabled, see attached pic
    - Clicking the Flag will report a post to moderators, infractions are given to users how violate the first bullet above
    - If a user gets to many infractions, their posts are set for moderation before posting and/or they are permanently banned
    - There is a team of 11 very active moderators monitoring the site. See attached pic.

Got rejected again for the exact same reasons.

Is there a url we can see a list of planned updates for the apps?

Unfortunately, no. It was decided to take the App Development inside the VPN and not use the Public Tracker except for reports by community users.

For the safety issues you would have to:
      1. Get a key from IPStack and enable it under Settings -> Options -> Privacy.
      2. Make sure California is checked as one of the regions to obtain consent from. It is on the Privacy Options page.
      3. Remove consent from your test user by editing their user account in the AdminCP.
        • This will probably have to be done with every app submissions.
