Mobile Suite 2.5 should be available soon. It has the fix for this.

I bought this months ago and have yet to be able to use it because of how it crops attachments. 99% of which are pics and they look terrible and there is no way to view the full image. It would be a disastrous launch for something thats in high demand from my users.

I haven't jumped into the API .... but are the app settings compiled into them at build time? Is there a temp patch I can apply to intercept a API setting call and have it force thumbnails for attachments? Just temporary, not having an app is causing me to loose members.

There is a workaround by setting View Attached Images Inline to "Yes, displays thumbnails" (under admincp > Settings > Options > Message Attachment Options).
I tried this and couldn't get it to work. Cleared cache and everything. Advice?

The web client uses the same APIs as the mobile apps to retrieve data. There is no way to make this option Mobile Only.

Is there a way to set this for the mobile apps only?

*If api call ... or something like that

The next mobile release will probably be around the same time we release 5.6.3. vBulletin 5.6.3 development starts today and will take approximately 12 weeks to be released. The mobile apps are developed by different people from the main vBulletin Development team. I don't know what their sprints or process looks like.

We are but that doesn't necessarily dictate a release date.

We don't provide actual release dates for anything until the release is ready to go.

  • vBulletin Mobile App for iOS -- Attachment Issue

My iOS app for my site (PlanetNautique.com) has been working fine for quite some time, however there is a major issue with attachments.

Users can attach images to their posts via the app with no issues, but the images do not display in the app! They appear fine on the web-based version of the site though.

Even images attached through the web-based version of the site are not viewable in the app. No attached images are viewable in the app at all.

What can I do to fix this?
