This thread is getting a bit off topic, let's keep it to talking about Apple Rejects, please.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

lol anyone seen their app rejected for this reason:

"12.3: Apps that are simply web clippings, content aggregators, or a collection of links, may be rejected

We found that the experience your app provides is not sufficiently different from a web browsing experience, as it would be by incorporating native iOS functionality.

While your app content may differ from your web site or other existing sites, the experience it provides does not differ significantly from the general experience of using Safari, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines.

We encourage you to review your app concept and evaluate whether you can incorporate additional features to enhance the user experience. Or, if you would like to share the app with friends and family, we recommend the Ad Hoc distribution method for distributing your app among a selected group of people. See the iOS Provisioning Portal for details on Ad Hoc Distribution.

Alternatively, you may wish to consider building a web app using HTML5. HTML5 is the major new version of HTML and enables audio and video to play natively in the browser without requiring proprietary plug-ins. Using HTML5, web apps look and behave like native iPhone and iPad apps, and using HTML5's Offline Application Cache, your web apps work even when the device is offline. With web apps, you have flexibility to deliver as much or as little functionality as you desire.

If you wish to build an HTML5 web app, you can do so and distribute it directly from your web site. It is not appropriate to resubmit an HTML5 web app to the App Store.

To get started with iPhone or iPad web apps, please review Getting Started with iPhone Web Apps.

For a description of the HTML elements and attributes you can use in Safari on iPhone, check out Safari HTML Reference: Introduction.

To appeal this review, please submit a request to the App Review Board"

@SteveLV702, that is a highly discouraging denial reason. wow. if apple started doing that for each person, that would be a debacle.

makes me nervous to even have to update my app when i see denial reason like that... i guess it just depends on how lucky you get with who reviews the app..

            very bad news.

thoughts vbulletin? perhaps a solution would be for vbulletin to contact apple. this is a high-level problem that impacts not only customers, but vbulletin as well (since customers wolnt be happy with the product if they can't get their app approved)

thats good news... just curious, what did you use in the appeal to make them change their mind, in case the problem happens to others in the future?

I said "well thats very interesting so if my app is denied for that reason then these apps should have never been approved.. Forum Runner, Tapatalk, TouchBB Forum Browser oh and most definately vbulletin seeing how our app is just like it in fact its just a rebranded version of it.."

I think it depends on who checks your app and what sort of mood they are in at the time.

Let me guess -- you remedied this problem by explaining to Apple that these "are not the Droids you're looking for."

I can't wait to submit my app. At least I already have one in there for my site and the name implies professional with no bikinis. Best of luck to all, not surprising unfortunately.

It's a site for adults but it's not a porn site, it's a sports site where a lot of the members post rude stuff. I'm pessimistic about getting an apple app due to the content unless I can hide all NSFW threads from the app. We used to have nsfw thread in with normal threads just with prefixes but now I've moved them into their own forum and tbh I'd prefer not to have had to do that at all.

                        Anyway my problem.
                        Nah look it's easy.

Apple want a test account right, so you set them up an account with viewing access to your tamest fora and pretend everything is just peachy.

EDIT: I had looked into hiding all the NSFW stuff and it's more hassle than it's worth tbh

They'd have a stroke looking at my place then. So much for the mobile app then...
