    Where I am confused is, I want to take my phpbb3 board, and use Impex to take everything from there, and move it to my new vbulletin forum.

    Should I be creating a new database here? Im really confused with the config file.

    Did you read the instructions in the manual? Appendix 5: ImpEx Import System

    You will need a new database for your vbulletin installation. You will also want to take a backup of your live board and do a test impex from it first, so you will need another database to put that backup.

    Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

      I see that now. I am getting this error message when I run install

      vBulletin is not compatible with PHP 4

        vB4 requires PHP 5.2.0 or higher and MySQL 4.1.0 or higher.

          I uploaded entire Impex upload folder into forum/admincp/

          But I cannot see in my admin control panel, where to import.

              You upload the impex files and folder to an 'impex' directory under your main forum directory, not the admincp. Have you upgrade PHP?

                Yes, Upgraded php, and installed the forum.

                I now have files at forum/impex
                and still do not see it in my acp.

                    This is my target database:
                    $hostname='newvbulletin.db.5212584.hostedresource.com';
                    $username='newvbulletin';
                    $password='your password';
                    $dbname='newvbulletin';

                    This is my source database:
                    $hostname='p41mysql9.secureserver.net';
                    $username='IWSversion3';
                    $password='your password';
                    $dbname='IWSversion3';

                    Do I have something wrong here:

                    $impexconfig['target']['server'] = 'newvbulletin.db.5212584.hostedresource.com';
                    $impexconfig['target']['user'] = 'newvbulletin';
                    $impexconfig['target']['password'] = 'password';
                    $impexconfig['target']['database'] = 'newvbulletin';
                    $impexconfig['target']['tableprefix'] = '';

                    $impexconfig['source']['databasetype'] = 'mysql'; // mysql OR mssql
                    $impexconfig['source']['server'] = 'p41mysql9.secureserver.net';
                    $impexconfig['source']['user'] = 'IWSversion3';
                    $impexconfig['source']['password'] = 'password';
                    $impexconfig['source']['database'] = 'IWSversion3';

                      make this correction....tableprefix must be "vb_"

                      as this way : $impexconfig['target']['tableprefix'] = 'vb_';

                        I added that, but it didnt work.

                        When I got it started, I did the first task, then I went to the second one, associate users, and thats when I started having problems.

                          hmm. users associate never worked/understood to me/too. But when finished impex operations and updated counters, and deleted default users group, all my members appeared. Could you try to ignore users associate and go to the next module till the last, and then you can see what happens ?!

                              when I hit the Import tab, It gives me this option:

                              Database cleanup & restart

                              I try this one

                              Delete Session

                              To delete the import session and continue with the import, click here.
