Upgrade vBulletin 4.0.x to vBulletin 3.8.x

Friends wanted to know if you can upgrade from vBulletin 4 to vBulletin 3, If this is possible and could effect?

If you mean downgrade - no. vB4 upgrade changed the database and it's no longer compatible with vB3. You could flush and reinstall vB3 and use your old vB3 db backup.

There may be other ways that I don't know about.

Actually several have asked that, there are two options
Install the backup your friend took before the upgrade
Pay someone with a custom "downgrader" to downgrade it for you.

As to the charge for downgrader?, because I guess no one has managed to do such a thing

well there was a vb support site that had a person offering such a service
but that site has shut down as far as I know
might try google "vbulletin downgrade service"

Well then, after various tests eh made it through what would be 50% of what is vbulletin version 4.0.8 to 3.8.6 but still lacks things to correct but it already seems to be more complicated if some issues and not post recognized and that's what I'll see why ...

with impex is not possible and that does not bring that option because it was the first thing to try.

You cannot downgrade using impex unless you don't care about any of your attachments (and who knows what else it will not import).

I give an apology, and I just try and look impex work except for some minor bugs with the avatars and profile photos

AFAIK it wasn't floris who had it, rather someone on his forum was offering it
unfortunately that site seems to be closed down, google would be the best place to find that user now, which I linked to in the post above.
