    SMF 2 to VB 3.8.4

Merge import, no previous import just set up and attempted to merge SMF into it.
    Source - SMF 2
    Target - vBulletin 3.8.4
    Module - Unsure

I have gotten everything to import correctly and it copies all the attachments from the source location to the target location. The problem is the posts that had the attachments no longer have a link to the attachment. I have been looking for hours for a solution or any mistake i made but i can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Ok, I have figure out exactly what has happened. Every post that had a rar as the attachment did not show the attachment in the converted post. So I restored to my original backup before import and added rar into the attachment manager and attempted to import the db again and still its not showing the attachments. I am sure it has to do with the attachment being a rar but I don't know what else to try.

Edit: I have been looking through this some more and I have found a few imported threads with rar attachments that are working. I am not sure what is happening

Ok, I am not sure what is going on but some attachments successfully complete and are transfered to the VB attachments folder but do not show a link in the post. Others do not transfer at all, say that the source file can't be found but I have tested and verified from the source board that they are there and working fine. Please, can anyone help me. I have imported everything else from a huge forum and the only thing failing is the attachments, only 1/3 of them are successful.

Attachments are on my to-do list as well. What I know so far is that there are file extensions and MIME types that can be defined in the attachment manager. I do not know if impex relys on file extensions and if there isn't one, it relies on a matching MIME type to allow the import. Another thing to consider is the size of the attachments. The vBulletin defaults for most attachments is pretty small. Hopefully, Jerry will be along soon to help shed more light on this for us.

I have already made sure that the attachment extensions were added and I found a list of mime info for the extensions and added them to the extensions I added and then tried a fresh import and am having the same problems. I also was thinking it may be because some attachments had the encrypted file name option in effect and others didn't but I have checked and some of the encrypted file names transferred successfully and some of the unencrypted file names transferred successfully so I don't think that is the problem. This is the only thing keeping me from opening the new site, everything else worked great. Only problem at all is around 4000 attachments succeed and 9000 or so fail.
