  • After a successful import users cannot login

Hi guys jsut converted a phpbb 3 into vb 3.8

My users cannot login and says invalid password, however as the administrator i am able to do so.

I then tried doing the usergroup and users import again but that did not fix the password login problem..

I also followed the impex clean up proceedure, updated all counters and removed the impex folder.. still no luck.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Please note that since phpBB3 passwords are encrypted, they cannot be imported. Your users will need to reset their passwords after the import. You can read more about this here:

So there is no way what so ever other than password request?

How can i send a mass reset password request?

      Cheers

You can send a mass email to let them know about this.

Admin CP -> Users -> Send Email to Users

Having trouble getting this done, how do I send a mass email from the Send Email to Users page?

So far I've only been able to send to one user at a time and when I try and put the user in it doesn't find some of them.

That is the correct place to do that. What are you doing exactly and what happens when you do it?

A user has just logged in after a password reset and was greeted with the message he had been banned. Please can you advise what I need to do??

That means you did not follow the 'After the Import' instructions here:

                http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/impex_cleanup

So does that mean to remove the impex file you simply delete the "impex" folder on FTP?

                  That page doesn't really explain!

                  Cheers Steve!

Yes, but the specific section I am referfing to is about deleting the imported usergroups and double-checking the permissions.
