MySQL error: Error writing file '/tmp/MYTJ7lxY' (Errcode: 28)

Hi, I'm upgrading a fairly large board with over 300,000 attachments.
This is the actual conversion run, not the test run.
I've done 3 test runs that went smoothly, that's why this is distressing.

The import process has been running (for the last 3 days, the number of attachments really slows it down)

A few hours ago I got the following error in the browser:

Database errormysql error: Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM attachments_desc ORDER BY attach_id LIMIT 240000, 2000
mysql error: Error writing file '/tmp/MYTJ7lxY' (Errcode: 28)
    mysql error number: 3
    Date: Sunday 01st 2009f March 2009 11:33:19 AM
    Database: **********
MySQL error: Error writing file '/tmp/MYTJ7lxY' (Errcode: 28)
I'm pretty familiar with MySQL so I check the /tmp drive to see if there's enough space on there

Running df gives me the following result:

    /dev/ad0s1e 507630 24 466996 0% /tmp
Shouldn't that be enough free space for MySQL to continue running or am I overlooking something?

Thanks for any help, I have the web admin team looking at this and they're lost as well.

    Actually that error means:

Error code 28: No space left on device

One or more partitions on your server is out of space or doesn't have enough space to complete this operation. Shutdown your forums (if you can) and contact your host immediately. You or your host will need to find out which partition is low on space and free up some more space.

Here is an explanation of the error on the MySQL site:

Thanks for the quick response Steve.

I've moved the temporary directory for MySQL off /tmp on /usr/tmp, and this solved the space issues.

      Thanks again.

You could also set your board to store attachments in the file system opposed to the database before the import, it will save a lot of time moving them out afterwards.
        I wrote ImpEx.
