  • Is Impex the proper Tool

I want to take a vb 3.7.1 and import Forums, and Threads, posts -- into an existing vb 3.7.1 setup. Consolidating an old set of forums into a new setup.

Yes, you would use Impex to do that.

As Steve said, it is, it's what's know as a Merge Import :

Great it sounds like Impex is the tool i need, but here is the kicker.

My new VB 3.7.x is on a new server, and been running for about 2 weeks. The data i want to bring into this new server is of course on a different server.

All i want is to bring over the Users, Forums, Threads and posts. Avatars and Attachments would be nice as well. I know there is a Merge and figure that is the best way. I dont want any of the old styles, or junk that was in the old database.

Before i go any further, what is the best way to proceed.

Move that database to the new server and run Impex.
