  • Problems with Custom BBCodes while migrating from phpbb3 to VB 7

    i WAS able to do everything successfully. But all my Custom BBCODe were dirty.

    By Dirty I mean I had a bbcode called

    [embed][/embed] in my phpbb3 which looks like

    [embed]http://url.flv[/embed]
    This was an extra bbcode which I added in phpbb3 using their admin panel.

    But when I Imported it into VB it becomes
    [embed:k4st389g]http://url.flv[/embed:k4st389g]

    This number K4st389g is different for every thread and every bbcode. So I cant even replace it.

    Can we do something about it?

    vBulletin by default has no [embed] bbcode.

      I have updated the parser to turn them into [url tags.
      I wrote ImpEx.

        No Man Thats not what I want.

        Why To Turn them into URL Code?

        They are the Custom BBCodes.

        So PHPBB3 Has a facility to desing our own BBCOdes. Its similar to that of VBulletin.

        So All I want is either automaitcally convert these custom BBCodes which a user can define in PHPBB3 as new custom bbcodes in VB.

        OR Remove that above problem which I have mentioned.

        Let me know if u need any clarification of my problem.
        I may have not explained it correctly.

        VB doesnt have any Emebd bbcode. Nor Deos PHPBB3.

        Its something which I have defined thru admin panel of phpbb3.

          Then use tools/cleaner.php and replace line 98 :

          PHP Code:
          #$text = preg_replace('##siU', '', $text);
          with this :

          PHP Code:
          $text preg_replace('#\[embed:([a-z0-9]+)\](.*)\[/embed:\\1\]#siU''[url]$2[/url]'$text);
          I wrote ImpEx.
