  • Importing from SMF 1.1.4 to vB 3.6.8

Having a lot of problems using the impex import system?

From SM 1.1.4 to vB 3.6.8 I have no:
    - avatars?
    - thumbnails of attachments (they are not showing as actual thumbnails) they are showing as "attached files" the larger image of the thumbnail is showing as "attached images"
    - No Users!? The names are in there, but shows only 1 user after import

Does somebody know of a "GUIDE" specific to SMF --> vB?

Would anybody be willing to do a PROPER conversion for me? PM me how much .. I need the information transfered over correctly, so members know it is new forum, but all their stuff is still there as it once was.

    Thanks

I did, but didn't seem to work, I will try it again tonight. I am looking for any solutions, I have owned this vBulletin for almost a month now, and cannot get my SMF transfered over to it

Make sure you have followed the instructions about usergroups. If you do not need to keep your users in seperate usergroups you can just delete the imported usergroups and this will move the imported users into the registered users usergroup and set their permissions automatically. You will need to check your forum permissions.

With regards to the attachments, you may need to run Rebuild Attachment Thumbnails from the AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters page.

          Smf 1.1.2

I need to import from SMF 1.1.2 to vB3.6.8

However, I am getting errors right off the bat, for instance, the importer is looking for a member_name field in the smf_members table.

My database has the field name as memberName

From the system folder, I am using "smf2" which says it support smf 2.0 beta... but my SMF is 1.1.2, could that be the problem?

Yes, as your system is SMF1 ..... so use the smf/ folder which is for SMF1.

Stupid Question Award - goes to me!

Hmm.. can I win an award for a retarded question?

Somehow I got mixed up there, but just looking at things I can't see how I was so blind.

              Apparently I was.

              Thanks for your response.

I am also having problem while converting from smf 1.1.4 to vb 3.6.8
I am doing it on local server first
Everything went fine all imports were done successfully however imported data is not showing on main site only on forum statistics

have a look at screenshot below

I had a problem where one of three forums did not show up.

I had to go in and edit the Display Order to get it to display.

The Display Order of the forums as imported was probably invalid, so it did not show up.

i13: see if that is your issue.
