    Importing into the same database!

    Hello,

Im trying to import my 3.6.8 very old database (been through many upgrades and learning experiences...) so it's full of old junk that I don't need and don't use anymore. Im trying to import into my test board and every time I run a module it imports it into the same database! So now I have double users and some double posts.

Now when I go in and try to turn off/on any options (plugins and so on) I get an error so I can't even do that!

I don't know what else to do!

    Please help

    Thank you

If your test forum already has a thread, and you import that thread from the old forum, yes you end up with 2 threads.

If you have 2 forums, a live one and a test one, make sure both config.php files are pointing to their OWN database (2 sites can't use 1 and the same database)

Then, when you install impex on the test db, make sure the impexconfig.php file points to the two different databases.
