phpbb attachment import: external server

Hi, i'm migrating from phpbb PLUS..but i've got a problem!

the impex works very good, but it can't find where are stored my attachments..

they are inside an external server!

in "Full path to uploads/attachments folder where the source attachments are." I insert the full path of the external server "http://www.site.com/attach" ...but the impex isn't able to find them!

do i have to move all the attachment to the same server of vbulletin?
i don't want to do it because i'm going to use this mod: Files Upload Center - Upload Your Files To External Server

That is a URL, a path would be something like :

/home/jgas/public_html/phpBBforum/attachments
