  • Trouble importing from Ultimate Bulletin Board

Hello, we are in the process of moving from Ultimate Bulletin Board (ver 6.72) to the latest version of vBulletin (ver 3.67) and are having trouble with IMPEX. Our current board is located at http://ubb.outlawaudio.com and the new board is installed on the same server and same IP address at http://saloon.outlawaudio.com The web server paths and files are shared on the same drive. MYSQL is running properly and the clean install of vBulletin went smoothly.

-This is a clean import (roughly 5500 members)
-Source board is Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 6.72
    -Target board is vBulleting 3.67

We are having trouble when we try to import threads and posts and get the following errors. We can import the users find and the paths appear to be correct.

Here are various status points and errors that we received during the import process:

    Import Threads

Got thread and DID NOT imported to the mysql database

    Import Posts

Get Paths and System Data: All OK
Associate Users: Done but not relevant since new site
    Import Users: Successful
    Import Ban List: Successful
    Import Forums: Successful
Import Threads (20) at a time: On many forums, got message: Got thread and DID NOT imported to the mysql database
Import Posts (1 threads at a time): Importing forum_1.threads Got thread and DID NOT imported to the mysql database Invalid post object, skipping.’threadid’
Userid being set to 0 because

Also, I got the following 2 emails during the install (not sure if this is related). I made sure that the MSQL database was cleared before the vbulletin install and then I created a blank database named vbulletin (with corresponding userid and password which seemed to work fine as I created test posts etc.)

Many thanks in advance for assistance with this.

    Hello,

The 2 SQL errors are most likely caused because you tried to access the forum before the installation was completed. I would ignore these 2 errors.

If a thread (and therefor all posts in that thread) can not be imported then there is some mandatory information missing. Without actually looking into your import it is impossible to tell why.

    Most common reasons:
    - Invalid forumid
    - Invalid user

If this is preventing a larger number of threads from being imported, then please open a support ticket with all relevant information so we can have a look at this.
