  • [IPB2.2 -> vB 3.6]500 - Internal Server Error

    I recently imported my IPB 2.2.1 board into a clean vB 3.6.4 board. No errors or anything, everything is imported how it should. However, when I'm trying to view posts/topics I get a 500 Error on every topic. I have gone through every tool of "Update Counters" and even Repaired/Optimized tables.

    Does anybody have a clue of what might be the problem?

    Internal Server errors are generally related to either a server problem, or added code to the vB files and/or templates.

    The first thing I recommend is that you disable any plugins and reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

    Next, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

      I have done everything like you said, and yes, I'm still getting the exact same error.

        Then this has to be a server problem. You need to contact your host about this. The default vB code and templates would not cause a 500 Internal Server error.

          When dealing with 500 errors we really need to see the PHP error log or webserver error log for that page view to understand why it failed.
