  • Updating Parent id's timing out

    Hi. I'm hosted on a shared server, and i get a timeout @ updating parent ids after around 120 seconds (apache2 timing out, php is successfully configured to max execution time 0)

    I'm importing around 500000 posts, and using about 2 hours until i reach the point of updating parent id's.

    Any way i can run the updating of parent id's from command line ?

    You may be running into a memory limit. Try increasing the php.ini memory_limit setting to 64M. If you are running Apache you'll need to restart it after making this chaange.

      I don't have access to edit the memory limit trough a local php ini, nor access to restart apache. If this is the only way then i should contact my host for a solution.

        To temporarily up your limits edit your includes/config.php file and add these lines right under the <?php line:

        ini_set('memory_limit', 64 * 1024 * 1024);
        ini_set("max_execution_time", "800");

          Well i ended up copying both databases and running them locally

          But now i have trouble importing the avatars. I have copied the avatars from phpbb and put them local as well. Windows, apache.... any ideas ?

            And what is the trouble exactly?

              Just got them to import - i moved the under the impex directory and used relative path instead of full path.
