PHPBB to VB with the SERPS in mind

I converted my phpbb forum a while ago to vbulletin but I had an awful lot of content from the phpbb forum indexed in search engines. Approx 5,000 pages. These pages are not accessible now because obviously the urls are different since the move to VB.

Is there anyway of maintaing indexed pages after a change over?

ImpEx has a 404.php file which allows you to redirect the 404 errors of phpBB pages to the correct page in vBulletin.
That should do what you want.

Also 301 as the data has been technically moved and that will update the search engine.
