Is there any thoughts of moving the import system to a shell script?

I mean it would be so much nicer... I've thought about doing this myself but I just dont have the time ;(

I do imports well over a million most weeks, if you are having server issues and pages failing etc, up the page speed to give the request more time.

What exactly does this value do?

This server is a dedicated server for JUST this forum. It has plenty of horsepower and its load is very low... I have a hard time saying its a timeout/server issue...

Well you say you've never had a successful import, I'd need to know more of the details to know what is going on.

Basically the import runs, goes fine until doing 'posts'. During posts it just STOPS cold.

However I've never gotten past 50k posts until today. Today I chagned the number of posts per import to 200 and its running like a champ. Its over 200k imported already!

It's updateing the post parent id's, that can take quite a while, just give it some time.
