    It's SQL

with the import file do i need to import all of the tables? I just really want the users and their post counts. And I can copy that from the sql file, the user tables. But it's giving me an error with their ID'S?

Ok, that requires you to upload your sql backup first right? My problem is I tried this before(for a different method though, not that one) and it took like 4 hours. It took up alot of space so after the method did not work i deleted it. So is there an easier/quicker way of doing this?

And when it says DIRECTORY/TO/BACKUP or whatever, can that be on your local computer? Or does it have to be uploaded onto the site

You will need to completely restore the phpBB database in order to do the import. Here again are the instructions for restoring a database:

If you have specific questions about this processs, then please ask.

    Well I did get further.

My problem is my sql file is 300mb and I dont know how to do the SSH stuff so i was doing it manually but after awhile it got tiresome (im a moron ) Then since I had some tables there, including the users. I tried doing that but to no avail.

Database error in vBulletin:ImpEx Source 3.0.5:

    SELECT * FROM phpbb_users
    ORDER BY user_id
    LIMIT 0,500
mysql error: Unknown column 'user_id' in 'order clause'

    mysql error: No Database Selected

This error means you still do not have the correct database settings in ImpExConfig.php. The target settings should be exactly the same as in your vB config.php file. The source settings should be for your restored phpBB database.

What do you mean it won't let you? Please be more specific.

If i do not respond immediately it's because I'm going to bed now. I've been at this for 15 hours and am a little tired.

The phpBB database of course. You need to restore that backup file to a new database.
