      Hi Jerry,

Many thanks for all your hard work on the UBB importer. The confusion over line numbers is probably because I was counting from 1, whereas you appear to be using the PHP indexing convention of counting from 0.

Therefore the revised rows using PHP style indices are:
      homepage[3]
      custom1[16]
      custom2[17]
      custom3[18]
      custom4[19]
      userpictureurl[20]
      daysprune[21]
      customtitle[31]

Hope this helps, and apologies for the confusion. The only conflict I can see now is the overlap between firstname, lastname and the custom registration fields. This is probably a version difference and would only double import some fields, which is not an issue.

      Cheers

      Dave

        Hi Jerry,

I hit an error after using the empty database option so I reinstalled a clean version. I downloaded the new version of Impex v1.42 and ran the first module. It ran through most of the way, then gave the following error
        =====================================================
        moderator - importmoderatorid OK
        usergroup - importusergroupid OK
        ranks - importrankid OK
        poll - importpollid OK
        forum - importforumid OK
        forum - importcategoryid OK
        user - importuserid OK
        style - importstyleid OK
        thread - importthreadid OK
        post - importthreadid OK
        thread - importforumid OK
        smilie - importsmilieid OK
        pmtext - importpmid OK
        avatar - importavatarid OK
        customavatar - importcustomavatarid OK
        customprofilepic - importcustomprofilepicid OK
        post - importpostid OK
        attachment - importattachmentid OK
        pm - importpmid OK

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

        We apologise for any inconvenience.

Database error in vBulletin:ImpEx Target 3.0.3:
        Invalid SQL:
        SELECT fieldname, vbmandatory, defaultvalue, dictionary
        FROM vb3_vbfields
        WHERE tablename = 'usergroup'
        ORDER BY vbmandatory

mysql error: Table 'forums.vb3_vbfields' doesn't exist
        mysql error number: 1146
Date: Tuesday 14th of December 2004 12:21:54 PM

I have now re-downloaded the latest version of vBulletin, just tto make sure there hasn't been any changes and will reinstall. I will then try to import again. I will post here if that cures the problem.

          Hi Jerry,

Still getting the same error, even after re-download, install, then import. Any idea how to get around this problem?

          Thanks

Thats not running the index.php page of impex, as it needs to build the vbfields table the first time it runs.

Delete the session and try again.

As for the lines in the Members files, they arn't consistant accross versions of ubb.classic so I'm looking into what can be done about that.

                Hi Jerry

Nearly completed the v1.43 import now, I will let you know tomorrow how it went but already it is a vast improvement.

                Cheers

                  Hi Jerry,

Mostly very good news, the import looks very good. The only slight problem is that the custom title field appears to be a logical field, hence doesn't like the text title from UBB. I have used a spare field "occupation" to grab the info, but thought you would like to know about the issue.

                  Cheers

                  Dave

Well due to the every changing formats and layout etc I think all ubb classic imports are going to need a bit of tweaking for the user importing module.

                      Hi Jerry,

I think everything is imported now, I am not aware of any missing data at all. I agree that the annoying habit UBB had of changing the format of the Member file will mean individual tweaking in many cases. However I will your existing importer should give impressive results immediately for many boards.

Many thanks for your superb support, I cannot remember any software company giving such amazing service. If any other UBB board owners read this, I completely recommend the upgrade to vbulletin.

                      Many thanks

                      Dave
