Thinking on buying facebook app

I have bought the facebook Apps for a longtime. But until now, the app is useless for me. In my opinion, it's better if Vbulletin allows site to auto post content to a facebook page instead of this App.

You will need an SSL certificate of one form or another, which will cost some $$ depending on what you choose to buy.
As I understsnd it, the SSL certficate and the FB code, can be hosted independantly from your forum.
The setup instructions are fairly complicated but not impossible to follow.

I'm only a newbie here and have only just created my first vB fourm so take the following as you wish:
I purchased the fb app for my site and have given up installing it for these reasons:
- I don't have lots of technical knowledge but I did install vb myself and have other web experience; however, the fb install instructions by vBulletin are awful and technically advanced. I think you need to be registered to view them from the members area (not sure). I just got sucked in from the promo page and purchased along with my suite and now I regret it.
- It seems that the best way to install this app is independant to your website not integrated with your forum - I can't explain that any further but this is how I understand it. I just wanted a simple fb integration on my site somehow.
- Since having all this trouble myself I started searching forums and found lots of negative opinions about the fb app.
Personally, I asked for a refund but got issued with an agreement policy at purchase saying basically tough luck so I essentially wasted $99.
If I were you, I would do lots more reasearch first before buying the app and think about vB5 - will it be better coded and more user friendly for non-techs?
