  • Change of quota for attachments

I have a problem with the limitation of quota for uploaded attachments/images for my users.
The limitation is now set by previous admins to 100000000byte and one of the users now has filled that quota and get a message of exceeded quota when trying to add another jpg file.
The board has no limitations for total uploads and uses 1,38GB today for attachments.

Have searched and read some similar issues but not found any solutions to my specific problem.

    My problem:
I have no limitation for the total quota (Set to zero for no limit under AdminCP Settings>Options>Message Attachment Options)
And for the user group (registered users) that has a user that has reached the configured limit of 100000000bytes I can't change the value at all.
Tried to increase to 150MB (157286400bytes) or remove the limitation (0) but both gave a database error.

Does it have to do with my privileges to access and write to the database using the AdminCP?

My primary user group is "Administrators"
And I have access to the user account with userid: 1 which also has primary user group set to "Administrators"
I have also access to the server by SSH as sudo if needed.

Let me know if more information is needed to help me solve this issue.

What is the specific wording of the error on the screen?

I don't recommend storing large files in the database. MySQL doesn't recommend storing large files in the database. The file system is better suited for storing large files.

We don't store large files in the database, file size is limited to 1000000bytes except for .zip archives (20000000bytes) and we have only one zip file of 4,7MB, all other are less than 1000KB mostly jpg and png. Average size is 111,8 KB and there are approx. 13000 attachments stored at /var/attachments

The error message is exactly as quoted (Forum uses Swedish language)

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'mgc_cb_evo_permissions' in 'field list'.

        None of these fields are:

        `mgc_cb_evo_permissions` = '0',
        `mgc_cb_evo_refreshrate` = '',
        `mgc_cb_evo_nbmsg_show` = '',
        `mgc_cb_evo_nbmsg_perday_show` = '',
        `mgc_cb_evo_nbthreads_perday_show` = '',
        `mgc_cb_evo_max_chats_perday` = '',

This is from an addon. It is not a vBulletin field. Uninstall and delete the files from the Addon. I am guessing it is some sort of chatbox.

Was just checking versions and pluins according to you hint Getting your questions answered quickly...
I think these plugins are active
[Ozzy47] Extended Search Links In Navbar 1.0.1 Adds extended search links to a dropdown menu in the navbar.
autopm on thread moderation 4.0.6 This hack will send a pm to the thread creator upon moderation.
JJs Piwik tracking code integration 1.00 Includes Piwik tracking codes into the forum html output.
Post Thank You Hack 7.85 Post Thank You Hack
          VSa - ChatBox 3.1.8 VSa - ChatBox

"autopm on thread moderation" and "Post Thank You Hack" are active but I'm not sure about the rest and there are also some plugins listed if I check "Plugins & Products -> Manage Products" but they have their listings with strike-through font.
But I guess that "VSa - ChatBox 3.1.8 VSa" are the reason for the fields you mentioned
I will check with the person I think installed them.

          Thanks for now!
          Help is much appreciated

Depending on the addon, 'disabling' it so that its title is struck through doesn't necessarily mean that all of its code is inoperative. It should but people do tricks and hacks they shouldn't all the time.

Yeah, tell me about it, I do testing of software for a living in automated systems and have heard all excuses!, "It shouldn't...." But I haven't touched that module..."
Automated test sorts out the most but not the strangest of errors.

Tried to disable the ChatBox plugin but it did't have any positve impact and as I said I will get in contact with a previous admin who installed ChatBox and is much more experienced in VBulletin than me.

Edit: This is the plugin https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=235271

The fields are most likely from this addon: https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=168992

If not listed, it is probably uninstalled but hasn't removed all of its hooks or code during that process.

Hmm? That one isn't listed at all, not even struck through.
Haven't seen it as far as I can remenber but there was some chatbox active during the Christmas Hollydays some years ago-
But I'll wait to see if I get some answers from previous admins

Got some kind of answer from the old admin

                    "Sound fair
May have been something I have tested but rejected and the uninstall may maybe didn't went all well"

Don't know if I'm looking forward to read the 586 pages long thread with 8700 posts for MGC Chatbox Evo
searching the thread for 'uninstall' gave 149 hits.

I'm afraid that I'll do more harm than solving the issue, but I'll start reading and checking what files and directory's I find that matches MGC Chatbox
However the command 'find / -name mgc_cb_evo -type d -print '
gave 2 hits and there are a lot of old files in the directories, non newer than 2nd of September 2013
                    And also 2 files 'mgc_cb_evo.php', 'mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php'

I'd just download the add-on again. Read the instructions for installing the addon. Then perform the steps in reverse to delete the files from the addon.

I did the same to see if there is an easy way that I'm comfortable with.
I don't want to wreck an active forum and cause downtime.
Thinking of setting up a copy at home to practice first before doing it on the live server hosted far away.
Thank for your advice so far.
