Moved my 4.5.2 VB install to a new server and am seeing asterisks in them. Appears plugins are working.

Make sure that you that are not using a version of PHP higher than 7.1.33. If you are using the older PHP, then upload the /install/ directory and run /install/upgrade.php to rebuild all caches and indexes after your move.Translations provided by Google.

lol, get a 500 server error running upgrade, i believe they cot off mysql_connect but my forum is set to mysqliComment

vBulletin 4.2.5 only supports MySQLi and shouldn't try to use mysql_connect(). mysql_connect was removed from PHP.Translations provided by Google.

Yes I know, but not getting an idea why upgrade is throwing a 500 Error yet, only issue i could figure was the mysql, but like i said im configured for mysqli

I followed the instructions to upload and install vBulletin 5 and was able to get to the install page correctly and install it. However, when I go to any other page I get a
